JAMES THOMAS TRANQUILLA

TRANQUILLA, JAMES THOMAS James T. Tranquilla of Millville, NB passed away September 22, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Millville in 1922, he was a son of the late John B. and Alice I. (Braun) Tranquilla. James was a Veteran of the Second World War and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Millville Branch # 59. He was employed as a Maintenance of Way employee with CPR and he loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Augustine Alice (Lily) (Rondeau) Tranquilla; one daughter, Theresa Saklatvala (Jerry), London, England; four sons, James Tranquilla (Lisa), Lr. Queensbury, Brian Tranquilla (Eileen), Winnipeg, MB, Dwaine Tranquilla (Sue), Ottawa, ON and Dwight (Marilyn), Newbridge; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Tranquilla, Fredericton; one brother, John Tranquilla (Carlene), Kingsley; a sister-in-law, Coleen Tranquilla, Millville; fourteen grandchildren, James, John, Giselle, Jocelyne, Joel, Derek, Tabatha, George, Edward, Kathryn, Eleanor, Nick, Angela and Danielle; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Billings and a brother, Marcus Tranquilla. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating, assisted by Rev. Roger Urquhart and Rev. Derek Langille. Interment in Millville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to make a donation in memory of James, the family has suggested the RCL Poppy Fund, Millville Branch # 59 or the Millville Cemetery. www.flewellingswan.com
