BILL BROWN
BROWN, BILL After a brief illness, William (Bill) George Charles Brown, husband of E. Christine, of Douglas, NB, passed away September 29, 2008. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 31, 1936, Bill was the son of the late John (Jack) and Minnie Etta (Petteplace) Brown. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, John (Susan) Brown of Westside, BC; daughter, Janice Brown of Saint John, NB; sister, Jacklyn (Douglas) Hazelwood of Kansas; grandchildren, John, Lynn and Stephen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Murray. Bill was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces and a federal civil servant. His years as a Boy Scout leader led him to become Miramichi District Commissioner. Warm months, Bill could be found camping or happily puttering in the yard. The cooler months brought him indoors to delve into family genealogy and read military history. He played an active role in his church and was Director of the NB Christian Ashram. Most of all, Bill loved his family and loved taking care of them. They were always his greatest joy and he will be missed more than words can say. No visitation by request. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 3 pm, at First Congregational Church of Fredericton, NB. Reception to follow at the church. Interment to take place at Valley Cemetery, Truro, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Fredericton or to a charity of your choice.
