JOHN ANDREW MCCONAGHY
MCCONAGHY, JOHN ANDREW John A. McConaghy of Millville, NB passed away October 13, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB in 1920, he was a son of the late Rev. Stanley and Lulu (Woods) McConaghy. For many years John was foreman of the potato farms of H. C. Greenlaw Ltd. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Millville Branch 59. John is survived by three daughters, Wanda McConaghy (Jerome), Fredericton, Pam Barr (Stan), Millville and Gail Stewart (Wayne), Rusagonis; three sons, David McConaghy ( Glendeena), Nackawic, Reg McConaghy (Shirley), Millville and Ken McConaghy (Roberta), Hawkins Corner; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; special friend Anne Marie Gullison, Millville, NB; two sisters, Ruth McConaghy, California and Shirley Pierepoint (Ted), Milton,ON; four brothers, Tom McConaghy (June), Edmonton, AB, Donald McConaghy (Louise), Quispamsis, NB, Jerry McConaghy (Penny), Rothesay, NB and Stan McConaghy (Lois), Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by an infant son, Jackie, one sister, Muriel Scott and a daughter-in-law, Carol McConaghy. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Coleman Price officiating. Interment in Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
