JOSEPH GLENDON SHANNON

SHANNON, JOSEPH GLENDON Glen Shannon of Zealand, NB, passed away October 13, 2008 at his home. Glen was born in 1940 at Jacquet River, NB, a son of the late John H. And Mary A. (Dempsey) Shannon. Before his retirement, he was employed with Charmac Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Glen loved music and enjoyed the weekly jamborees at the Millville Legion. He is survived by his wife, Lelia (Morehouse) Shannon; a daughter, Krista Shannon (Kevin), Zealand, NB; four brothers, Lyle Shannon (Devota), Temperance Vale, NB, Wilfred Shannon (Norma Gene), Magundy, NB, Bernard Shannon, Sunnyside, NB, and James Shannon (Edna), St. Stephen, NB; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Morehouse, Zealand, NB; sisters-in-law, Gerry Shannon, Tower Hill, NB, and Diane Shannon, Sudbury, ON; brothers-in-law, Ivan Morehouse (Eleanor), Lr. Hainesville, NB, and Norwood Morehouse (Barbara), Keswick Ridge Road, NB, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Glen was predeceased by three sisters, Elizabeth Seeley, Mary Pye and Frances Shannon; and four brothers, Murray, William, Ralph and Roland Shannon. Visiting hours will be held at his home, 1955 Route 104, Zealand on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Lakeside Chapel at Greenhill Lake Camp on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Carl and Evelyn Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in the Zealand Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Morehouse, Everett Brewer, John Stairs and Gerry Crossman. Active pallbearers will be Ivan Morehouse, Norwood Morehouse, Brandon Morehouse, Kevin Cronkhite, Louis Bowmaster and William Pye.
