GRANDY, MARY MARGARET (KESSON) Mary Margaret Grandy (Kesson) of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Norman W. Grandy, occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Nasonworth, NB. Born on March 5, 1922 in Yarmouth, NS, she was the daughter and only child of the late William and Katherine (Watson) Kesson. Mary was a member of St. Paul's United Church and a member of the choir. She was active in the music circles in the city. Mary was a charter member of St. Anne's Point Chapter I.O.D.E. She attended Devon School, Fredericton High School and UNB. She spent several years in Ottawa working at the National Research Council before returning to Fredericton where she became Manager of the UNB Bookstore. After her marriage she was secretary at Devon Junior High School for twelve years. Mary is survived by sons, George W. Grandy of Surrey, BC and Bruce N. Grandy, wife and special friend, Rosemary of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Norman, Becky, Mary Meaghan, Brooxxie and Douglas; great grandchildren, Clayton, Chace and Anna; friend, Judy Grandy of Fredericton, NB; several cousins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place in York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, NB. The family wishes to give special thanks to care provider and friend, Lisa Sullivan.
