GRANT, WILLARD "BILLY" The passing of George Willard "Billy" Grant of Fredericton, NB, husband of Evelyn Grant occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 13, 1925 in Douglas, NB, he was the son of the late C. Ellis and Edna (MacAdam) Grant. Billy was a civil servant with the Department of Justice for 27 years. He was an honourary member of the Epsilon Y's Men Club and a former member of the Elm Tree Square Dance Club. Billy enjoyed gardening, carpentry, travel, loved helping people and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by his son, J. Ellis Grant (Adele) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Nadine and Joelle; brothers, Morris Grant of Kelowna, BC and Alexander Grant (Genet) of Moncton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Robertson and brothers, Garth "Mac", Charles, Harry and Ernest. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Chris Levan officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery.
