MCARTHUR, HAROLD S. The passing of Harold Stanley McArthur of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the age of 83. Born June 25, 1925 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late George and Etta (Copp) McArthur. Harold was Baptist by faith. He was employed with Canadian Westinghouse in Hamilton, Ont. for many years and when he moved to Fredericton he worked as a Commissionaire at the Victoria Health Centre. Harold served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1944-1946 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.4 Fredericton. Harold is survived by his very special friends Jane and Tom Babstock and Vivian Scott of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; brothers Don and Earl and sisters Olive, Verna, Alice and Viola. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Monday October 27th from 7-9 PM, funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery. A legion tribute service will be held Monday at 7:00 pm. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
