JAMES ALEXANDER RILLIE

RILLIE, JAMES ALEXANDER 91, died October 23, 2008 at Parkland at the Lakes, Glasgow Nursing Home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, with his wife Dorothy at his side. Jim was born in Montreal January 14, 1917. He served with the XVII Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars in World War II, and was awarded the Military Cross, and other medals. After the war he worked for CIL in Montreal, then for Jergen's in Perth Ontario. In the fifties and sixties, he worked for Canadair in Montreal, and from the early seventies into the eighties, worked as an economic advisor for the Government of New Brunswick until his retirement. Jim was an avid skier, golfer, curler and sports salmon fisherman. He was predeceased by his sister May (Winn). He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Kydd) son James Alexander (Maisie Kelland) daughter Elaine Amy (Stephen Crites) and grandchildren Claire and James Andrew. Cremation has occurred and by request there will be no remembrance ceremony. Donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, Fredericton Branch #4.
