MERRILL, LEILA ELIZA "ANNIE" The passing of Leila Eliza "Annie" Merrill of Cross Creek, NB, wife of late Russell Merrill, occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 11, 1929 in Greenhill, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Janie (Sherrard) Thomas. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and the Anglican Church Woman. Annie was a retired school teacher. Annie is survived by her daughters, Twila Ryan (Wilfred) of Stanley, NB, Crystal Hay (Carter Brewer) of Fredericton, NB and Hoda Martin (Sandy Savage) of Stanley, NB; sons, Brian Merrill (Beatrice) of Greenhill, NB and Blaine Merrill (Bonita Gormley) of Cochrane, AB; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Vernon Thomas (Linda) of Cross Creek, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Annie is predeceased by her infant daughter, Brenda; sisters, Fern Pringle, Beatrice Pringle, Ruby Hillman and Thelma Dalton; brothers, Osbourne and Herbert Thomas and Bert MacTavish. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Cross Creek, NB on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 2 pm with The Rev. Ranall Ingalls officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Lovell and Goldwyn Pringle, Matthew, Dale, Kevin and Robert Thomas. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery.
