MCEWEN, ISOBEL AGNES The death of Isobel Agnes McEwen of Fredericton, NB, occurred Monday, November 3rd, 2008. She was ninety - four years of age. Isobel is mourned by her nephew John Dancey; his wife Donna, their son, David and his wife Michele of Markham, and Paul and his wife Sarah of St. John's; and her great great nieces Julia, Nicole and Abigail; and great great nephew, Joshua. Also grieving are her friends, Elizabeth Manuge of South Ohio Nova Scotia, Phyllis Nussey of Ormstown Quebec, Georgena MacLean of Côte Ste. Luc Quebec and many friends and staff of Windsor Court. Isobel was predeceased by her parents John and Mabel McEwen, and by her sisters Ruth and Marjorie. Born in Huntingdon Quebec, Isobel earned a degree in Home Economics at MacDonald College(McGill University) and taught at Kings Edgehill School for Girls and at Montreal West High School. St. Andrews's and St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Montreal was a source of solace and education for Isobel during her Montreal years and of warm recollections afterward. Isobel moved to Fredericton and Windsor Court Retirement Residence in 1999. Isobel was a big sister to her nephew John, a close and valued friend to Donna, and a dear grand-aunt to David and Paul.
