MAILLET, ALPHONSE PATRICK 1929 - 2008 - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alphonse Maillet of Burton, NB, at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, November 9th, 2008 with his family by his side. Born in Cheticamp, NS, on May 5th, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marie Maillet. Alphonse is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delima (Cormier) Maillet; daughters, Claudette (Phillip) Lee of Bayside, NB, Sylvia (Dennis) Armstrong of Rolling Dam, NB; sons, Lionel (Fern), Richard (Stella) of Burton, NB and Ronnie (Sue) of Darlings Island, NB; two sisters, Dora (Richard) Deveaux and Rita (Leo) Leblanc; brother, Alfred (Barbara) Maillet all of Ontario; sister, Lucy (Joseph) Cormier of NS; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Alphonse was predeceased by an infant daughter, Bernadette; one sister, Hilda and two brothers; Thomas and Leonel. A heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 1st floor of Oromocto Hospital and special thanks to Father Weir. There will be no visitation by request. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 at 11:00 am with Fr. Ken Weir as celebrant.
