SORENSEN, RUTH EVELYN The passing of Ruth Evelyn (Jensen) Sorensen, wife of the late Alfred Sorensen, of Fredericton, occurred on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 20, 1923 in New Denmark, NB, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Annie (Hansen) Jensen. She was a Seamstress with Freeman's Ladies' Wear, member of All Saint's Anglican Church in Marysville, past President of the Ladies' Auxiliary Branch #15 Marysville, volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Mic Mac Trailer Park in Lake George. Ruth was the loving mother of Milford (Judy) of Victoria, BC, Joan Allain (Willie) of Shediac, NB, Cheryl Drisdelle (Roland) of Pointe du Chene, NB and Calvin (Susan) of Nackawic, NB. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy (Nyborg) Sorensen of Halifax, NS; eight grandchildren, Julie, Jan, Tina, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Corey, Chris and Jamie; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Alfred and her parents, Ruth was predeceased by one brother; five sisters and a grandson, Patrick. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11 am with Canon John Cathcart officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Denmark, NB on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10 am.
