BABIN, IRENE BATHURST, NB - Mrs. Irene Babin, 69, wife of Cyril Babin, of Packard St., Bathurst and formerly of Fredericton, passed away on Friday (December 19, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the only daughter of Florence (Vienneau) (Léger) Roussy and the late Joseph Edmond Léger and step-daughter to the late Eugene Roussy. Beside her mother of Bathurst, she is survived by two daughters, Beverly Ann Babin of Montreal, QC, Jan Helene Aubé (Michael) of Oromocto; two sons, Glenn Babin (Shelly) of Kitchener, ON, Alan Babin (Brenda Foster) of Aylmer, ON; two sisters, Pauline Lapointe (Joe) of Comox, BC, Rose-Marie Clark (Lloyd) of Moncton; two brothers, Paul Roussy of Moncton, Peter Roussy (Susan) of Arnprior, ON; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body will rest after 7 p.m. Saturday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning (December 22, 2008) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours are Saturday from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
