E. YVONNE CRAWFORD

CRAWFORD, E. YVONNE Yvonne passed away on Monday, Dec. 22nd, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB she was the daughter of the late Harold and Violet (Beatty) Hargrove and the wife of the late Donald Crawford. She grew up in Lakeville Corner, moving to Fredericton to attend Fredericton High School, graduating in 1942. Yvonne worked for several years as a secretary/bookkeeper for Kitchen Bros. until 1957 when she and her husband Don established their successful business, Crawfords Refrigeration Ltd., at which they worked for over 45 years. Yvonne was a devoted member of the Carleton York Chapter of the IODE and was treasurer of the Central Committee for several years. Also, she was an exemplary member of The Pythian Sisters Celestial Chapter #19 holding many offices where she was a member of The Past Chiefs Club. During Yvonne's active life she was involved for many years with curling, having been a member of the Capital Winter Club, holding at one time the position of President of the Business Ladies Section. Yvonne and her family were life long members of Brunswick Street Baptist Church. Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kilburn (Patrick) of Fredericton; granddaughters, Jane Kilburn Boyle (Christopher) of Toronto and Patricia Kilburn of Calgary; two great-grandsons, Wilson and William Lachlan Boyle of Toronto; two sisters, Joan Cameron (Daniel), Glenna Keleher (Fran), a brother, Harold Hargrove (Christina). She was predeceased by her husband Donald and parents Harold and Violet Hargrove. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, 160 York St., Fredericton, on Monday, December 29th, 2008 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Greg Geldart officiating. Following the funeral service there will be a reception in the adjoining room. Interment will take place in the springtime at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
