SAULIS, LABELLE L. On Saturday December 27 2008, Labelle Larry Saulis of Kingsclear First Nation, Kingsclear, NB went home to be with his Lord at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, He was 61. Born April 8, 1947 in Oromocto, he was the son of the late Walter and Annie (Atwin) Saulis. Labelle was a member of Sunset Church, Fredericton. He was a Woodsman and Heavy Equipment Operator by trade and was an avid fisherman. He was well known as a native Basket Maker and a vocal activist for the native community. He will also be remembered for his musical talent. He is survived by his wife Loretta (Hannington) Saulis; sons Winton and Curtis Saulis both of Kingsclear; daughter Carol Ann Marshall (Alex) of Cape Breton; four grandchildren; brothers Steve Sacobie and John Sacobie both of Kingsclear; sisters Freda Berube and Carolyn Saulis both of Kingsclear; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, brothers Clifford Sacobie, Norman Sacobie and Rufford Sacobie all predeceased him. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Sunset Church, 429 Clements Dr., Fredericton on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Joe Beesley and Rev. Richard Bragdon will officiate. Interment in St. Ann's Cemetery, Kingsclear at a later date. Contributions to Bridges of Canada in Labelle's memory would be appreciated.
