LINDSAY, CHARLES (CHUCK) Died peacefully at home on December 26th, 2008 at the age of 81 after a series of recent illnesses. Born near Windsor Ontario, Chuck experienced a wonderful life; at times full of challenges he met with courage and acceptance. He was a sharing husband and partner to his wife Shirley and a loving father and friend to his daughter Robyn. A member of the Wesley United Church Lincoln N.B, Wesley United Church Men's Club, GFB Gagetown Tankers SCUBA Club, International Union of Operating Engineers; Veteran of Canadian Armed Forces, he was a former crane operator in his early years; his mark was left on some of New Brunswick's largest bridges. Later he became proprietor and friend to many for at Robin Village Mobile Home Park. Chuck was involved in many community and church associations over the years. He was an accomplished carpenter, with many other skills he shared with others. He was comfortable on the water at the helm of s sailboat, as he went under it, exploring marine life in various local and foreign locations as a SCUBA instructor. His main regret in life was that his Lindsay tartan kilt had trouble accommodating either passion, but he gave it his best shot. He loved to travel especially to visit his mentor and brother, Tom J. of Florida. Above all else Chuck instilled the values of rightnessous and respect for others in all those that had the privilege of crossing his path. He will be missed, but not forgotten as his life continues through his family and those who knew him. Survived by Shirley wife for 61 years; Robyn O'Keefe, daughter (John), Harvey Station N.B; Tom Lindsay, brother from the Villages Florida USA; three nieces and four nephews residing in Ontario and USA, and cousins in Nova Scotia and Ontario. No visitation. A memorial service will be held from the Wesley United Church Lincoln, N.B on Tuesday December 30th 2008 at 1 PM. With Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment to take place in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery in the spring of 2009.
