MACLEAN, LEE DAVID L. David (Dave) MacLean of Nackawic passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1936 at Inverness, NS, he was a son of the late Hugh and Florence (Flieger) MacLean. He began working with CIBC in 1956 and retired thirty years later after managing several branches. Dave was a member of Nackawic Lions Club, a life member of Lions Club International and was a recipient of the Lions Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was a past master of the Granite Lodge # 54 and the a member of the Shriners. Dave was an active member of the Kirk United Church and a former mayor of Nackawic. Dave is survived by his wife, Juanita I. (Wilson) MacLean; a daughter, Lisa Galantai (George), Fredericton; two grandsons, Ryan Clark and Joshua Galantai, both of Fredericton; a sister, Ruth McAskill (James), Mactaquac; a brother, Wentworth MacLean (Annabelle), Strathlorne, NS; several nieces and nephews and his best friend, his dog Riley. In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by a son, Gregory Blake MacLean in 1980 and an infant daughter, MaryLee MacLean in 1964. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Kirk United Church, 29 Landegger Drive, Nackawic on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. A Lions Club Tribute service will be held at funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. and a Masonic service will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. Interment will be later at Wesleyan Union Cemetery, Upper Coverdale, NB. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Nackawic Lions Club and Granite Lodge #54. Active pallbearers will be Karle Scott, Danny Merryweather, Joe Brockowski, Wendell MacArthur, Robert Wilson and Wendell Flewelling.
