VANSTONE, THOMAS The passing of Thomas "Tom" William Vanstone of Fredericton, NB, husband of Jean (Parent) Vanstone, occurred on January 2, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 7, 1929 in Devon, NB, he was the son of the late William and Inez (Grant) Vanstone. He was a retired Lineman from NB Power. Tom was a member St. Mary's Anglican Church and the NB Power 25 year club. He loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his wife, Jean, Tom is survived by his daughters, Theresa Hawkins (Blaine) and Elaine Dunphy both of Fredericton, NB; son, Thomas Vanstone (Florence) of Grande Prairie, AB; grandchildren, Kyle, Warner, Keslie, Chris, Tracy, Rick and Rhonda; numerous great grandchildren; foster brother, Donald Brownrigg of Winnepeg, MN; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by son, David Vanstone and sister, Elsie Buliung. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Requiem Mass will take place at St. Mary's Anglican Church on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11 am with Father Ian Wetmore officiating. Interment will take place at Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to the Extra Mural or the St. Mary's Church Memorial Fund.
