FRANCIS, SUSAN ANN Susan Francis (nee Sime) born April 2nd, 1943 Halifax NS and lived many years in her chosen Ottawa. Susan died unexpectedly Monday December 22nd, 2008, at the General Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario, comforted with her family present. She died from complications of cancer over a very short period of time. Respecting Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place and was preceded by an intimate and loving family service presided by Fr. William Marrevee. Cherished Wife for 43 years of Dennis (Denny); wonderful Mother and loving Grandmother to: Debra (Ben Farmer - Granddaughters Emily 11, Sarah 9, Isabel 5) Steven (Lynne Gorham - Grandson Samuel 8, Granddaughter Lily 5); and Andrea (Phil Anastassiades). She was predeceased by her parents Stewart and Rita Sime, and her brother John. Susan will forever be in our hearts. Susan will be greatly missed by Brother Robert Sime (Anne Marie) and nephews John, Michael and Iain of Halifax NS; and Brother-in-law Daryl Francis and nephews Daniel and Ryan of Brampton ON. A Memorial Service will be held April 2nd 2009 in Ottawa at Beechwood Cemetery and National Memorial Centre. An announcement will be made later in February with details. As difficult as these past four months and especially Susan's last few days were, we received solace from the Montfort's and General Hospital's Doctors, Nurses and Staff support and care; in addition to Susan's Personal Physicians. Friends wishing to make contributions in Susan's memory may donate to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charitable organization of one's choice.
