VERNA AUDREY SEYMOUR

SEYMOUR, VERNA AUDREY The passing of Verna Audrey Seymour, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late George M. Seymour, occurred on January 18, 2009 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on December 7, 1912 in Keswick, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie (Wiggins) Hawkins. Verna was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church where she was involved in the United Church Women. Verna was a lifetime supporter of the PC Party. She enjoyed knitting things and passing them onto her grandchildren; family was the most important aspect of her life. Verna is survived by three daughters, Anna Perley (Edward), Gail Gibbard (John) and Lynn McCann (Graham) all of Fredericton, NB; 10 grandchildren, George Ferris, Raymond (Edie) Ferris, Wallace (André) Ferris, Lori Ann Perley, Shellee Janzè (Gottfrid), Bruce Perley, Brian (Jaime) Perley, Angela Niles, Carole-Lynda Mosher (David) and Mark Niles; 15 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Betty Ferris; four grandchildren, Jill Arbeau, Darren and Tammy Cook and Janet Lee Ferris; two brothers, Edwin and Clifford Hawkins; two sisters, Thelma Abrosimo and Reta Hawkins. As per the wishes of Verna there will be no visitation . A Funeral Service will be held from Nashwaaksis United Church on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. George Feenstra and Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or York Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all staff of York Manor and to all past homemakers for their excellent care of our mother.
