CARSON, ELVA "AL" CLARK The passing of Elva "Al" Clark Carson of Fredericton, NB, husband of Thelma (Collins) Carson occurred on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 16, 1933 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late Cecil and Viola (Price) Carson. He was a self employed custodian. Al was a member of the Nashwaaksis Kinsmen. In addition to his wife, Thelma, Al is survived by his daughters, Debrah Gibson of Fredericton, NB, Cindy Wood (Tom) of ON, Treena Paul (Gordon) of Fredericton, NB and Mary-Anne Banks (Ricki) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Steven Carson (Pam), David Carson (Carol), Brent Scott (Mary) all of Fredericton, NB; 13 grandchildren ; five great grandchildren; step daughters, Roxie Palmer (Sidney) of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, Vicky Palmer of Fredericton, NB and Nancy Palmer (Doug) of Parkers Ridge, NB; step-son, Robert Palmer of Fredericton, NB; six step grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Carson of Fredericton, NB, Janie Carson of Boiestown, NB, Calla Larsen (Arnie) of NS and Nora Astle (Reggie) of Astle, NB; brothers, Paul (Lois), Lynwood (Claudette) and Donald (Edna) all of Holtville, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife, Zona (Palmer) Carson. Al was predeceased by his son, Edward and step-brother, Ray Price. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place at St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Ludlow, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
