HORSNELL, DOROTHY FOWLER The death of Dorothy Fowler (nee Haining) (MacKay) Horsnell of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Alfred W. (Sonnie) Horsnell occurred on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB, daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Douglass) Haining. Dorothy was a longtime and active member of St. Paul's United church and a 51 year member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. Dorothy is survived by her son Gary and his wife Diane of Nashwaak Bridge, NB; her daughter Lynne of Fredericton, NB; one granddaughter, Shawna and her husband Jason McCoy of Fredericton, NB; her longtime friend and caregiver Karen Doherty and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sonnie, her parents; her step- father, Dr. Charles MacKay; son, Robert (Bob) A.; granddaughter, Katherine; brother, Fraser McKay and her sister, E. Madeline McKinnon. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home (160 York Street, Fredericton, NB, 458-9170) on Monday, January 26th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will take place at St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. H.G. Mackenzie officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Monday at 7 PM. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date.
