DORIS E. (PRICE) WOODWORTH
WOODWORTH, DORIS E. (PRICE) Doris E. (Price) Woodworth, of Fredericton, formerly of Priceville, NB passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on April 16, 1924, Doris was the daughter of the late Hartley and Susan (Beek) Price. Doris served in the Canadian Military during World War II with the Women's Army Corps. Following her time with the Canadian Military, she had various jobs; she was employed at the Legislative Building and was with the Liberal Association for 25 years, worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill and was a Nurse's Aid at the Victoria Public Hospital. Doris did housework and baby sitting for many people, she especially enjoyed children. Some of Doris's interests included, reading, music and singing. She was Anglican by faith and was a faithful wife and loving mother. Doris is survived by two daughters, Catherine Davis (Don) of Fredericton, NB and Elizabeth Toon (Jerry) of Calgary, AB; two sons, Manley Woodworth Jr. and Timothy Woodworth both of Fredericton; four grandchildren; Three sisters, Mildred Clowater (Sanford) of New Bandon, Leola Smith of Fredericton and Flora Rice of Saint John, NB and several nieces and nephews. Beside her husband: Manley F. Woodworth Sr. and parents, Doris was predeceased by five sisters, Neta Fletcher, Jessie Charters, Louise Maston, Winnifred Kenny and Marjorie Munn ; three brothers, Stanley, Henry and Joseph Price. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton NB on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wed. January 28th at 11AM with Pastor Peter Thomas officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
