BRITTANY, FREDERICK "FRED" JAMES The passing of Frederick "Fred" James Brittany Jr. of Cross Creek, NB, husband of Irene (Storey) Brittany occurred on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 19, 1927 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Frederick and Annie (Sansom) Brittany. He was a dairy farmer and worked in the heating and plumbing industry. Fred was a pilot and flew his own plane. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards. Fred will be remembered for his colourful language and his great sense of humour. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his daughters, Anne Brittany-Doucet (Glen) of Fredericton, Pat Brittany of AB, Nancy (Steve) Gilliland and Jill (Jim) Leonard both of Fredericton; sons, Ronnie (Laura) of AB and Tom (Barb) of Fredericton; special daughter-in-law, Dianne Brittany of Fredericton; grandchildren, Kristy, Michael, Ben, Shawn, Heather, Ritchie, Shannon, Justin, Alicia, Savanna, Samantha and Brett; great grandchildren, Brenden, Hannah, Lauren, Romeo and Emma; sisters, Margaret (David) McLeod of Windsor, ON, Joan (Norm) Stephens of Fredericton, Joyce Chamberlain of Cross Creek and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his son, James Brittany and sister, Katherine Jarrett. A Private Family Service will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive with Rev. Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest United Church Cemetery at a later date.
