GRACE AGNES FLINN

FLINN, GRACE AGNES Grace Agnes Flinn, wife of the late Ralph W. Flinn, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, January 30, 2009 after a brief illness. Born at Taxis River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ellen (MacDonald) Hinchey. Grace was the last surviving member of her family. She graduated from Normal School at the age of 17 and UNB with a BED in 1977. She began her teaching career at Green Hill, NB. She went on to teach at Grand Manan, Woodstock and Fredericton. She was the last teacher of the one room school house in Estey's Bridge, NB and retired from teaching at the Devon Elementary School. Following her retirement, she continued to substitute teach for several years. Her love of travel took her to Europe, Hawaii and many places in the US and Canada. Grace was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church and the Eastern Star, Woodstock, NB, Toastmasters and Retired Teachers. Her smile will be forever missed by all who knew her. Grace is survived by her three sons, Ashley Flinn, Ken (Glenda) Flinn both of Fredericton, NB, Stephen (Christine) Flinn of Fort Sask, AB; two daughters,Verna (Gerald) Marchisio of Dover, NH, Carolyn Tyre of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Stuart Flinn of PA, Amy Flinn of CT, Darren Marchisio of OR, Karen of NH, Jon Tyre of ME, all in USA, Cheryl Reid of ON, Rick Flinn of Saint John, NB, Kim Springer of Fredericton, NB, Dr. Erica Tyre of ON, Jason Tyre of Fredericton, Krystal Dawson of Moncton, NB, Kevin, Natalie, Kenny, Alisha, Ryan, Stephanie Flinn all of Fredericton, NB; great grandchildren, Kristina, AJ, Kaliegh, Meagan, Andrew, Jackson, Cassie, Aliyah, Julia and Brooke. In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was predeceased by her son, Daryl and two daughters, Lorraine and Janice; brothers, Fred, Ray and Glenn; sisters, Chrissie, Della, Gertrude and Ellen. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday February 1, 2009 from 7 to 9 and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11am with Rev. George Feenstra officiating and Rev. Gil MacKenzie assisting. Interment will take place in the United Church Cemetery in Stanley, NB at a later date.
