BAMFORD, D. KATHLEEN (MCMINNIMAN) The passing of D. Kathleen Bamford of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 1, 2009. She was 91. Born August 1, 1917 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Clifton M. and Frances R. (Harvey) Tapley. Kathleen was affiliated with the Salvation Army. She was employed in the Housekeeping Department at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel and the Fort Nashwaak Motel and later was a receptionist at the Maggie Jean Chestnut Residence. Kathleen always enjoyed the times spent at her camp at Grand Lake especially when her family was present. She also enjoyed the numerous bus tours she took throughout Canada and the U.S.A. where she made many lasting friendships. She was an avid fan of recording artist Daniel O'Donnell. Kathleen was devoted to her family. Surviving are her children, Carl McMinniman (Jessie) of Fredericton, Joan Doyle of Hampton, Myrna Henry (Alton) of Fredericton, Wayne McMinniman (Donna) of Fredericton, Mary Hogan of Fredericton, David McMinniman (Sue) of Burton, Jill Kierstead (Carl) of Fredericton, Cathy Baird (Dennis) of Charters Settlement and Peter McMinniman (Faye) of Noonan; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by a brother-in-law Raymond Dickinson, several nieces and one nephew and a cousin Jean Stairs of Fredericton. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband Don McMinniman and second husband John Bamford; sons George and Brian McMinniman; sisters Arvilla Bamford and Marion "Mamie" Dickinson; brothers George and Frank Tapley and great granddaughter Shayelyn McMinniman. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Salvation Army Fredericton Community Church, 531 St. Mary's St. with Captain's Bradley and Jennifer Reid officiating. Interment at a later date. Pallbearers will be Denny Baird, Carl Kierstead, Tim Henry, Danny Allen, Gregg Hogan and Mark McMinniman The family has suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the Canadian Red Cross or the Salvation Army Fredericton Community Church Building Fund.
