HUNTER, GERALD LLOYD Gerald Lloyd Hunter of Fredericton, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on February 15th, 2009 at the age of 89. Gerald is survived by: his wife of 55 years Irene (Ascah) Hunter, one daughter Geraldine Hunter (Eric Mourant) of Yoho Lake, one step-daughter Margaret Burke (Jim) of Nova Scotia, one step-son Terry Squires (Heather) of Ontario, a step-daughter-in-law Emily McLeod of Alberta, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Lars-Erik (Erica) and Steven Forsberg, Kristina Tardif (Jeff) and their sons Hunter and Xavier, Laura Hennigar (Colin) and their children Aiden and Kiera, Cara Greathouse (Eric) and their son Camden James, and several nieces and nephews. Gerald was a machinist for 37 year. He was always repairing or building something, may it be a snowmobile, trailer or clock - almost anything of wood or metal. He had a passion for camping, snowmobiling, making clocks, and playing cards. In later years he took-up oil painting. He is predeceased by his parents Ethel (Ward) and John T. Hunter, one step-son Richard McLeod, one sister Jean Linka and her husband Allen, one brother Roy Hunter. The family invites relatives and friends for a celebration of Gerald's life to take place in the Lodge at Kingswood at 31 Kingswood park, Fredericton on Wednesday February 18th, at 2:30 pm with Reverend Bob Johnson Officiating. A reception at the Lodge will be held from 3 to 5, please feel free to drop by. Interment of ashes, in the Red Bank Cemetery, Chipman, NB at a later date. You may express your sympathy by making a donation to the Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
