THOMPSON, MAURICE RUSSELL "LARRY" The death of Maurice "Larry" Russell Thompson, loving husband and best friend to Monica (Ewart) Thompson for 21 years, occurred unexpectedly on Monday February 23rd, 2009. Born February 11th, 1955 in Saint John he was the son of Elmer and Jean (Speight) Thompson. Larry grew up in Dipper Harbour and his greatest accomplishment in life was his two boys David and Stephen. He loved working side by side with his boys and he was so proud of everything they learned from him. Larry graduated from Saint John High School and Dalhousie University. He was employed as a Manager with NBTel now Bell Aliant where he worked for over 31 years. He loved spending time with his friends and neighbours at his camp on The Grand Lake and enjoyed fishing and boating. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and made the most of his life. Besides his parents and his wife he is survived by two sons David and Stephen both at home; sisters Betty, Cathy and Judy Thompson all of Saint John; mother-in-law and father-in-law Murray and Evelyn Ewart of Saint John; sister-in-law Beth (Dr. Murray Cullen) of Hampton; one niece Christa Thompson of Halifax and two nephews Christopher and Johnathan Cullen both of Hampton. Larry was predeceased by one brother Dr. S. Elmer Thompson. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 from 2 to 4, 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Silver Falls United Church on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at 1 pm. Interment will be held at Maces Bay Cemetery in the spring.
