GANONG, BARBARA ALTHEA The death of Althea Ganong of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on February 28th, 2009. Wife of the late Don Ganong, she was born in Bangor, Maine. She is survived by sons, Garfield (Cheryl) Ganong of Calgary and Dawson (Marlena) of Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan, Joel, Grayden, Roghan and Brian; and great- grandchildren, Alexandre, Akash and Arnav. In addition to her husband, Don, she was also predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Grace Rideout; and her brother, Eugene Rideout. Althea was a member of St. Paul's United Church and a life long, active member of the IODE. The family will receive visitors at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, on Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Church on Thursday, March 5th, at 2pm with Reverand Paul Ross officiating. Interment in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery will follow at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Paul's United Church.
