GIBB, WILLIAM "BILL" ALFRED The passing of William "Bill" Alfred Gibb, husband of Ola (McIntyre) Gibb, of Fredericton, occurred on March 12, 2009 at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton. Born on October 5, 1927 in Halifax, NS, he was a son of the late Roy and Lillian (Wiggins) Gibb. Bill was a Financial Planner with London Life for 45 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 as well as the Sea Cadets for 11 plus years. Bill also enjoyed sailing. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Paul) Clancey and Sylvia (Andrew) Young all of Ottawa, ON; one son, William Gibb of Toronto, ON; four grandchildren, Amber and Tyler Viscount, Jennifer and Christopher Young; one brother, Roy Gibb of Dartmouth, NS. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2 pm with Archdeacon John T. Sharpe officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 2 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
