MARION M. LaKING
LaKING, MARION M. Marion M. LaKing of McAdam, NB passed away March 17, 2009 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam. Marion was born at McAdam in 1922, a daughter of the late Ben E. and Gladys H. (Golding) McGee. She was a teacher by occupation, teaching one year at Harrison Trimble High School and the remainder of her career at McAdam High School retiring in 1989. Marion earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at UNB. She traveled the world extensively with her friends Frances LaKing and Ann Garrett and in New Brunswick enjoyed her cars, driving often to St. Andrews to be by the sea. Marion is survived by her daughter Merna Harper (Garth), Regina, Saskatchewan; three sons, Carl LaKing (Doreen), Calgary, Alberta, Doug LaKing (Patsy), McAdam and Danny LaKing, Hixon, British Columbia; a brother Carl McGee (Avis), McAdam; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Rev. Maynard LaKing on August 15, 2008 and two brothers, Harry McGee and infant Ronald. At Marion's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam at a time to be announced later.
