LaPLANTE, ROBERT JOSHUA 18, Glace Bay - With great sadness and loss, we regret to announce the passing of Robert Joshua Laplante age 18 of Glace Bay, NS. Robert passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Oromocto Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Chicoutimi Quebec, Robert was the proud son of Yves and Debbie (Headley) Laplante of Glace Bay, NS. Robert loved spending time and hanging out with his friends and family. He was attending GBHS and was expecting to graduate in the spring. When he wasn't busy with school and work, he could be found at the local skate park enjoying the jumps and entertaining the population. He was also employed at KFC in Sydney River. Robert has left many unforgettable memories in all of our hearts. He will also be remembered forever for his "joie de vivre", his carefree spirit and great personality. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Robert is survived by his only sister Samantha Laplante, currently attending the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario; and his grandmother Beatrice Laplante of Val Dor Quebec. Robert is also survived by his aunts: Lynda and Claude (Laplante) Bourassa Val Dor Quebec; Deannie Brewster, Mary (Brewster) Peters, Adie and Glenn (Brewster) Murphy, of Glace Bay; uncles: Richard (Barbe) Headley, Kevin (Blanche) Headley, Donald (Jackie) Headley, Benji Brewster all of Glace Bay, Calvin (Terry) Headley of Halifax Nova Scotia; Luke Lucas of Sydney NS, and numerous cousins and great cousins. Robert was predeceased by grandfathers, Joshua Eastland Brewster, Glace Bay, Robert Aurey Laplante, Val Dor Quebec, and grandmother Dorothy "Icy" (Francis) Brewster, Glace Bay; aunts Dolly (Reddick) Ashe and Winnie (Reddick) Lucas and other family members. Words cannot express the sadness we feel, but we find comfort in knowing that God found another angel. Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay, 849-7520, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, at 2PM at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Glace Bay, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
