EDITH (MAE) FOWLIE

FOWLIE, EDITH (MAE) 1925 - 2009 - Edith (Mae) Fowlie passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at The Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Mae was born in Fredericton, May 21, 1925, daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Maxwell) Harvey. Predeceased by husband Douglas Fowlie and daughter Deborah Fowlie. Brother Ronald and Vance Harvey and sister Helen Firlotte. Survived by four children: Ronald Fowlie (Brenda) of Quispamsis, Catherine Parker (Larry) of St. Stephen, Robert Fowlie (Kara) of Fredericton, Darell Fowlie (Shelly) of Moncton. Seven grandchildren: Ian, Colin, Laura, Rachel, Megan, Brendan and Cooper; and one great grandchild Olivia. An active citizen and community volunteer, Mae worked tirelessly for organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society for which she received the Lieutenant Governor's Award, the Canadian Red Cross, Saint James United Church and UCW, Y's Menettes, Eastern Star, King's Daughters and many other worthy causes. Visitation at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Saint James United Church, 120 Chapel Street, Woodstock, NB with Rev. Hazel-Jane Morris officiating. Interment in spring at the Kirk Cemetery. If so desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Saint James United Church or the charity of the donors' choice and would be appreciated by the Fowlie Family.
