
ANNE BERNADINE R.N. Anne RYAN
RYAN, ANNE BERNADINE R.N. Anne Bernadine Ryan, R.N. of Fredericton passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2009. Anne was born in Pennfield Parish, Charlotte County and grew up in Black's Harbour and St. Stephen, the daughter of George and Harriet Murphy who predeceased her. She was a retired Registered Nurse having graduated in the class of 1953 from Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton after leading the Province in her R.N. examinations. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling. Anne was married to the Honourable Patrick A.A. Ryan, Q.C., retired Justice of the New Brunswick Court of Appeal and currently the Conflict of Interest Commissioner for New Brunswick and an Officer of the Legislative Assembly. Anne is survived by four children, Michael A.A. Ryan, (Cindy) of Fredericton; Sean P.G. Ryan (Susan), Winnipeg, Jamie J.K. Ryan (Paulette), Fredericton and Peter T.S. Ryan (Karen), Miramichi; several grandchildren, Shane and Keri Ryan, Fredericton; Meagan and Michael Ryan, Winnipeg; Devin and Chase Ryan, Fredericton; Justin and Amanda Ryan, Miramichi; several sisters, Blanche Lee, Victoria B.C. and her children; Eileen Groot (Tom), Penticton B.C. and their children; Beth Haigh, Penticton and her children: Shirley Spracklin, Sarnia, ON and her children; Myrna McCormack, Stephen N.B. and her children; Mary Murphy of St. Stephen and brothers Brian Murphy and his children and Richard Murphy of the St. Stephen area. Anne is also survived by her sister-in-law Mardi (Marjorie T.) Cockburn of Fredericton, widow of Judge G. William N. Cockburn and their children William and Blair Cockburn, Fredericton, Blair's children and Beth (Émile) Savoie of Sackville, N.B; brother-in-law, Floyd Carr of St. George as well as her aunt, Eileen Sullivan of Rexton, Kent Co. She was predeceased by her parents, and one sister, Jane Carr. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home (160 York Street) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon, on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church (1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton) with Fr. J. J. Dolan as celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date in the Hermitage Cemetery.
