CLOSE, VIOLA MAE A funeral service for Viola M. Close of Harvey, NB was held at Swan Funeral Home, Harvey Station on March 22, 2009 with Pastor Hollis Clark officiating. Family tributes were by son, Leroy Close and granddaughters, Mary Scott and Tammy Holland. Organist was Debbie Cole. A reception followed at Lions Club. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Joseph Close, Jason LeBlanc-Close, Eddy Scott, Ronnie Scott, Don Scott, Roy Scott and Allan Shand. Born in McAdam in 1925, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eldora (Mattatall) Webber. Viola enjoyed music and was an avid bingo player. She passed away March 19, 2009 at Swanhaven, Harvey Station. She is survived by her husband, Percy Close; her children, Nancy Nason, Harvey Station, Edward Close (Shirley), Harvey Station, Leroy Close (Krista), Riverview, Donald Close (Claudette), Harvey Station, Murray Close, Harvey Station, Mae Close (Ken), Fords Mills, Garnet Close, Harvey Station, Carol Lockhart (Brian), Quispamsis, Marguerite Close, Moncton, Maxine Close (Wayne), Moncton and Brian Close, Fredericton; a sister, Kathleen Stroffer, Scarborough, Maine; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Charles and Eldora (Mattatall) Webber, Viola was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil and John Mattatall.
