FREDERICK MORLEY BRETT

BRETT, FREDERICK MORLEY 65, Arnold's Cove Nfld, and formerly of Fredericton, NB passed away Tuesday, March 24 at the G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, Nfld following a brief battle with cancer. Born in St John's, Fred worked for Transport Canada as a Flight Service Specialist. As well as several postings to remote stations in eastern Canada he worked mainly in Deer Lake, Goose Bay and Fredericton. Upon retirement from the Government he worked with the Neil Squire Foundation in Fredericton. Throughout his life Fred displayed a great talent and passion for music. In every place he lived Fred was very active in church choirs, providing community service in vocal groups, and using his immense musical talent for the enjoyment of others. Fred also loved working with computers where no problem was too difficult. Countless friends and relatives benefited from his patience and skill in teaching. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Verna Kirkwood of Stellarton, NS; loving daughters Karolyn Brett (fiancé Craig Leblanc) and Kris Brett, Fredericton; special granddaughters Katherine and Kaylah; sister-in-law Iris Brett, Arnold's Cove; brother- in- law Walter Kirkwood (Eleanor), Lantz, NS and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only brother Herb Brett. Cremation has taken place by request. Visitation at the Fewer's Funeral Home in Arnold's Cove, Thursday 26 March 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Arnold's Cove First United Church Friday 27 March at 2 PM, Rev. Don Stiles officiating. Internment will be at a later date. Donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Arnold's Cove First United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
