GEORGE DOUGLAS HAINES
HAINES, GEORGE DOUGLAS Born on September 29, 1941, George went Home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 30, 2009. George was the second son of the late Douglas and Irene Haines (nee Lake). Survived by Evelyn, his loving wife of 48 years, his daughter, Kelly Hiltz (Dan) and daughter, Kimberly Haines; Papa of Joshua, Amanda, Samantha, Bethany, Daniel, Kimberly, Daniella, Domonique and Bradley and Great Papa of Alicia. Predeceased by his brother, Gerry (Donna); survived by his sisters, Margaret (Howard), Donna (Tom) and his brothers, Kenny (Diane), Allan (Betty), Gordon, and Stephen (Lila). A hard working husband and father, over the years he worked for Canada Bread, Lyle's Service Centers and Kem Oil Company. After a hard day's work George looked forward to being at home with his wife and family, and considered that a day that did not end in spending time with his family was a day that was not well spent. In April 2003 George and Evelyn pulled up roots in Pickering, Ontario and moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick and decided to make this their retirement province. George adapted quickly to life in Fredericton and became an active member of Kingsley Baptist Church. His duties at the church included trustee, usher, and greeter, and he loved to work with the children in the Awana Club, with Evelyn by his side. Many good evenings were spent in fellowship with friends and family, which were a very important part of his life. One of the special times in George's life was when he went to Mississippi with the CRWRC, and his good friend, Aubrey Gaines, to build homes for people left homeless by hurricane Katrina. Other special times were spent at Living Waters Bible Camp in Danforth, Maine. He spent time relaxing there with Evelyn and his grandchildren, Daniella, Domonique and Bradley, plus their Kingsley family. Visitation will be held at Kingsley Baptist Church in Estey's Bridge on Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service with Pastor Chris Emery officiating. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, New Brunswick (506) 458-9538. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Kingsley Baptist Church (donations to be used to support Living Waters Bible Camp). Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
