NEWTON, JEFFREY, I. The passing of I. Newton Jeffrey of Hanwell, NB, occurred on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at home. Born on January 20, 1944 in Young Cove, NB, he was the son of the late Amos and Blanche (Bridges) Jeffrey. Newton drove truck for North American Van Lines for a number of years. In addition to his loving companion of twenty years, Myrna (Thompson) Ackerson, Newton is survived by his two sons, Dean of Peterborough, ON and David (Anita) Jeffrey of Montreal, PQ and their mother, Marie Mills; granddaughter, Dalia; sisters, Donna Marr of Minto, NB and Anne (Richard) Feeney of Harvey, NB; aunts, Pearl Snodgrass of Mill Cove, NB, Jean Leach of Winnipeg, MN and Fern Jeffrey of Moncton, NB; uncle; Everett Barton of Lincoln, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Newton was predeceased by his brother, Alton Jeffrey. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Graveside Service will take place at Byno Cemetery, Lakeville Corner, NB at a later date. Time and date will be announced.
