BURRELL, THELMA JEAN The passing of Thelma Jean Burrell of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late George Angus Burrell occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 20, 1923 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie (Gibbons) Gourley. She was an active member of the Nashwaaksis United Church Women and enjoyed Kingswood Seniors Bowling. Thelma is survived by her daughters, Sandra J. Dignan (Ken) of Dartmouth, NS, Ann E. Burrell (Rick Arnott) of Edmonton, AB and Joan L. Wall (David) of Boyle, AB; sons, Brian Clarence Burrell (May) of Fredericton, NB and Richard John Burrell (Lois) of McLeod Hill, NB; eleven grandchildren, Christopher and Lianne, Ashley and Bradley, Taylor (fiancée Elizabete), Meredith and Cameron, Scott and Charlotte, Kaitlyn and Stefan; brother, Russell Gourley of McLeod Hill, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was predeceased by her sister, Elsie Spinney and brother, Ford Gourley. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. George Feenstra officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
