GARY FRANK HAY

HAY, GARY FRANK Gary Frank Hay, 60, passed away suddenly at his Fredericton, NB home on April 2, 2009. Gary was raised in St. Stephen, NB the son of Maxine Hay (Moore) and Robert Hay (deceased). An only child himself, he is survived by his daughter, Katherine (Katie) Hay of Halifax, NS, previously, Fredericton, NB. In addition, he will be sadly missed by his favorite Auntie Buck (Shirley Fenwick) of Kentville, NS and her family. The Hay and Moore families have roots in McAdam, NB and Kentville, NS. A graduate of New Brunswick's St Stephen High School and Kings Regional Vocational School in Kentville, NS, Gary was a mechanical technician by trade. He is a former employee of the Province of NB, ADI, PTL and Provincial Artisans. He spent several years associated with the DivorceCare ministry of Fredericton's Grace Memorial Church and the Unitarian Fellowship. He pursued life-long interests of photography, HAMM Radio, scouting, model railroading and genealogy. He maintained long-term memberships with the Fredericton Society of St. Andrews and the Royal Canadian Legion. A friendly, proud and private man, he considered his greatest accomplishments to be his daughter Katie, his completion of Scouts Canada Gillwell training and his diverse circles of friends, including those who frequently shared Tim Horton's coffee with him. Gary was blessed to have lifelong friends and we have been touched by their sadness. So to Cam Moffatt, Jim Maxwell, Whidden Graham, Bill Young, Hill Grimmer and David Moffatt we say thanks for your long and caring friendships. The family is also aware that Gary had many friends associated with his interests and work life who provided support over the years and wish to thank you for your friendship. Gary's life was honored by family and friends at a visitation held in St. Stephen, NB on April 5 and on April 6 with a visitation followed by a celebration of his life at Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Fredericton, NB. In May his cremated remains will be interred at Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill (Kentville), NS. Remembrances may be made to the Epilepsy Society or the charity of your choice.
