COLLINS, WILLIAM (BILL) PERCY It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of William (Bill) Percy Collins on April 23rd, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Loving husband to Bertha (Calhoun); beloved father to Cheryl Morgan (Lloyd), Cindy (Bob Burns), Stephen and Michael; grampy to Jennifer Palmer (Jeremy), Jason Morgan (Melissa), Kelsie Burns and Nathan Collins; great grampy to Andrew Palmer, Lily Morgan. Born in St. Stephen on March 9th, 1922, son of the late John and Margaret (nee McConvey); brother to Vernard, John (Jackie), Myrtle Doak, Shirley Stoddard and Thelma Carson; uncle to several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his youngest child, Keith; sisters, Jean Collins and Elva Norrad; brothers, Lawrence (Rocky) and Cecil. Bill was a WWII Veteran, lifetime member of the Beaverbrook Branch #80 of the Royal Canadian Legion, retired DND firefighter (37 years), avid hunter, licensed guide, passionate gardener, lover of nature and storyteller. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 26th, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Derek Bartlett and Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will take place at the McGivney Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
