FERRIS, NORMAN READE The passing of Norman Reade Ferris, husband of the late Myrtle May (Greenfield) Ferris of Fredericton, occurred at York Manor Nursing Home on Monday, April 29, 2009. He was 84. Born October 30, 1924 in Jemseg, NB, he was the son of the late Reade Wesley Ferris and Nellie (Rankine) Ferris. Baptist by faith, he attended Grace Memorial United Baptist Church for many years. Norman was retired from the City of Fredericton where he worked as rink manager for 31 years. He was well known by all hockey teams because of his love of hockey as well as his work. Norman leaves behind a chosen granddaughter Erin Kenny (her husband Lyle and their daughter Jacquelin) of Fredericton; a brother Robert of Central Greenwich, NB and two sisters Bernice Piers of Saint John and Madeline Stairs (Carl) of Ottawa, Ontario; a special niece Helen Anderson (Robin) of Kingsley, NB as well as a number of other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his wife Myrtle (Feb. 15, 2009). No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
