GODIN, LIONEL JOSEPH It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Lionel Joseph Godin at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 28th, 2009. Born in Lorne Settlement, June 1st, 1932, he was son of the late Arthur and Helen (Carrier) Godin. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Doherty) Godin; sons, John (Nancy), Mike (Jodi) and Kevin (Kim); grandchildren, Johnny, Angela, Randy, Vanessa, Rebekah and Jessica; great grandchildren, Chris, Riley and Brianna; sisters, Emma and Bernice and several nieces and nephews. Lionel was predeceased by his brothers, Johnny, Ralph, Loid, Sylves and Delphus and his sisters, Opal, Edith, Mildred, Viola and Dora. Lionel worked at Diamond Construction and with the City of Fredericton until his retirement. He was an avid fan of boxing, wrestling and the UFC. He enjoyed walking, spending time with family and friends and telling stories. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Friday, May 1st, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2nd at 2 pm at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald White as celebrant. A reception will take place in the Msgr. Boyd Family Centre immediately following the interment in the Hermitage Cemetery.
