ALLISTON, MEGAN (NEE: MERRETT) At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on Monday April 27th, 2009, Megan Alliston passed away at the age of 89. Born in her grandmother's house at 30 Lewis Road, Llandough, Cardiff, South Wales on January 31, 1920, she emigrated to Canada (Oromocto) with her family in April of 1929. In 1938 she married J.S. (Mike) Alliston in Fredericton and spent the rest of her life in the Fredericton area. She was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church and was always active in her community. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike, her parents, William Stanley Merrett and Alice Mitchell, brothers Stanley and George, sister Vera McGrath, brother-in-law, John, and sister-in-law, Charlotte. She is survived by her brother Alan of French Lake, sons George (Margaret) of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and Wilfred (Patsy) of Fredericton, granddaughter Lisa of Toronto, grandson John Clare of Fredericton, great granddaughter Demi Lynn of Toronto and generations of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Peter's Anglican Church, Fredericton, on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Canon T.A. Smith officiating. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. K. Srinivasan and the kind staff of Mountainside Lodge and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital who cared for Megan in the last years of her life.
