DeAMBROSE, WALTER JAMES The passing of Walter James DeAmbrose, of Waasis, husband of Edith (Weir) DeAmbrose, occurred on May 11, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 29, 1926 in Wolfville, NS, he was a son of the late Albert and Bessie DeAmbrose. Walter was affiliated with St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Lincoln. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93, Oromocto and the Knights of Columbus. Walter loved hunting, fishing and playing music. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lawrence DeAmbrose (Darlene) of Saint John, Gail MacKay (Curtis) of Deer Island, Gloria DeAmbrose of Saint John, Joan Herbert (Garth) of Fredericton, Edith Bickell (Mike) of Fredericton, Gwen Hayward (Keith) of Saint John, Lorraine Hanlon (Brian) of Oyster Bed Bridge, PE, Vincent Saulnier (Nicole) of Fredericton, Nancy Lint (Andrew) of Fredericton, Roland DeAmbrose of Fredericton, Ricky Saulnier (Kerry) of Red Deer, AB, Delaine Saulnier of Fredericton and Joseph DeAmbrose of Fredericton; 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; special friend, Daisy. Walter was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon DeAmbrose. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 12 noon with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place at Waasis Green Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
