KAVANAGH, JOHN DENNIS MCFARLANE 49, of Kentville, Nova Scotia, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax as the result of an acute asthma attack while snorkeling. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Carolyn (Wright) Kavanagh, Halifax and the late Jerrold Kavanagh Q.C. He was a musician of great wit and heart. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Judy Kavanagh; his wife, Mary McFarlane; a son, Andy Kavanagh; step-daughter, Lori Rafuse. We love him dearly. We'll miss him deeply. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 in the United Church of St. Paul and St. Stephen, Kentville, The Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating.
