EMBLETON, JO ANN The passing of Jo Ann (Mackay) Embleton of Fredericton, NB occurred peacefully at her beloved cottage in Bear Island along the picturesque Saint John River on Monday, June 1st, 2009. Born in Stellarton, NS, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Ian and Ann (Buck) Mackay. Jo Ann moved to Fredericton after meeting her best friend, partner and love of her life, her husband of 38 years, Paul. A devoted wife and mother, Jo Ann's passions were participating in the development of her family and taking pride in her home. As lover of nature, she enjoyed being at the cottage, feeding her animal friends and manicuring the property on her John Deer Tractor. Jo Ann was loved by all who knew her and she will be remembered for the spring in her step, the twinkle in her eyes and the genuine interest she took in everyone she met. Jo Ann is greatly loved by her "Hun" Paul; her son, Jason and his wife Tabitha and her grandson Rhykr all of Fredericton; her daughter Jennea Elles and her husband Tryfon and grandson Harrison all of Fredericton, NB; four brothers, Ian (Sandy) Mackay of New Glasgow, NS, Frank Mackay of Edmonton, AB, Jack Mackay (Agnes) of New Glasgow and Colin Mackay (Brie) of Pictou, NS; two sisters, Dana Grieves (Peter) of New Glasgow and Lilla Walker (Bruce) of Stellarton, NS, and one sister-in-law, Jean Mackay. Predeceased by her parents and one brother David Mackay. All are welcome to join Jo Ann's family at the Delta Hotel in Ballroom A on Friday, June 5th between 4 to 8 PM to share memories. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Bear Island Cemetery or the Dr. Everett Chalmers Neo-Natal Unit would be appreciated by the family.
