STAIRS, MICHAEL R. On June 4th, 2009 Michael Raymond Stairs of Sheffield, NB passed into the presence of his Savior. He was 56. Born in Woodstock, NB on August 23rd, 1952, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Catherine E. (Hanson) Stairs. Michael was an active member of Praise Christian Fellowship and treasured the fellowship with his church family. He was an avid sports card collector and an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Michael worked as a Medical Attendant at Mill Cove Nursing Home for a number of years. He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Khoury of Fredericton and Mary Paul Bradley (Peter) of Kingston, Ont.; three brothers, Paul of Fredericton, Bob (Judy) of Keswick Ridge and Brian (Sandra) of Fredericton; two foster sisters, June Brewer (Francis) of Burtts Corner and Edith Gallagher of Fredericton; seven nieces, Susan Khoury of Thunder Bay, Ont., Alyson Paul of Kingston, Ont., Shawna Quinn (Greg) of Upper Gagetown, Leslie Paul-Plaster, Charlotte Davidson (Stephen), Shasta Stairs and Carrie Lynn Stairs all of Fredericton; two great-nephews, Joseph Plaster and William Stairs; one great niece, Gwen Davidson; several aunts and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his parents; his foster mother, Hazel Hawkins; brothers, Weldon, Blaine and William (Bill); a foster sister, Alice Moore; a foster brother, Jim Hawkins and a niece, Sonya Khoury. Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A celebration of Michael's life will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 7th, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Orser officiating. Interment in the Mouth of Keswick Cemetery.
