MURRAY, OWEN EUGENE On Saturday, June 06 2009 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Owen Eugene Murray of Woodstock NB passed away at age 82 years. Born at Woodstock NB, January 29 1927 to the late Donald and Alma (Blackmore) Murray, Owen did farm work in the area and was employed by the Department of Transportation for 31 years, a member of St. Gertrude's parish and an active Member of the K of C for several years. He is survived by his wife Jean (Bell) Murray of 43 years, children, Todd and Debbie Murray, sister, Betty McAuley (Garth), Woodstock, brothers, Donald Murray (Sylvia), Houlton, ME, Martin Murray (Elaine), Mapledale, NB, special Aunt Edna (Skip) Prosser, sisters-in-law Shirley, Ronda and Hilda Murray, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Owen was predeceased by brothers; Leo, Tommy, Joe Murray and an infant sister, Mary Theresa Murray. Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB where friends may call on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 am from St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Woodstock, NB with Father Brian Wetmore officiating with interment at the Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy maybe made to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Gertrude's Church or a memorial of the donor's choice.
