LAWRENCE EDWARD VENIOT
VENIOT, LAWRENCE EDWARD The passing of Lawrence Edward "Bud" Veniot, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on June 9, 2009 at the Veterans Health Unit. Born on July 27, 1924 in Devon, NB, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Alice Jenny (Coleman) Veniot. Bud was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. He served overseas in WWII with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. Bud was retired from NB Power. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and the Fredericton Y's Men. Bud was an end-man known as "Honeysuckle" in the Smokey Mokes group for many years. Bud is survived by his wife, Ada; daughter, Laura Clark (Paul) of Fredericton, NB; four sons, Larry (Donna) of Hampton, NB, Peter (Theresa) of Grand Bay, NB, Roger (Dale) of Edmonton, AB and Steven of Fredericton, NB; five grandchildren, Adam, David and Lisa Clark, Laura and Steven Veniot; one sister, Shirley Scovil (Jack) of Vancouver, BC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Helen, Frances and Isabel. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home for a Legion Tribute Service, Thursday at 7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 2 pm with Father Monte Peters officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
